- Watch each of the videos to get an overview of the exercises. The first exercise is up/down. The second is BEADGCF with a beat. The third is FCGDAEB with a beat.
- Start with the open G string, then “play and say” the natural notes (going “up” the fretboard – towards your body) until you reach the “G note” on the 12th fret.
- Start on the “G note” on the 12th fret, then “play and say” the natural notes (going “down” the fretboard – away from your body) until you reach the “open G Note”
- Repeat this exercise until you can play and say all the natural notes going “up” and back “down” the fretboard reasonably comfortably. (Hint: you don’t have to do it all in one day!)
